Francesco Malandrino is a researcher at IEIIT-CNR (Institute of Electronics, Computer and Telecommunication Engineering of the Italian National Research Council) since 2018. Prior to his current appointment, he was an assistant professor at Politecnico di Torino, Italy, where we obtained his Ph.D. in 2012.

In 2014 and 2015 he held short-term appointment at Trinity College, Dublin and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, respectively as a research fellow and as a Fibonacci fellow. In 2010 he was a visiting student at the University of California, Irvine.

His research interests fall in the wide area of wireless networks, including next-generation cellular networks, vehicular networks, and ad hoc networks. Current research topics include 5G architecture and algorithms, millimeter-wave vehicular networks, and drone mobility planning in disaster scenarios.
