Alex Calisti, Research Associate
CNR IEIIT - Wireless Communication Systems Group

IEIIT-CNR, Bologna unit
V.le del Risorgimento 2, Bologna 40136, Italy

Born in Rimini (Italy) in 1988, he graduated in Telecommunications Engineering at the University of Bologna in 2014. He is currently working towards his Ph.D. Since 2015, he is associate researcher in the wireless communication group of IEIIT-CNR.

The research activity is carried out at WILAB (Wireless Communication Laboratory, School of Engineering and Architecture of Bologna). His research interest are mainly focused on wireless communications and coexistence issues among different wireless systems, analyzing mainly the physical level, medium access control and radio resource management. He is also analyzing new technologies as Visible Light Communication systems (VLCs), to find a new opportunity to help the overloaded licensed bands. He is also involved in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), applying wireless technology (including VLCs) to improve safety and efficiency in V2V e V2I applications. Currently, his activity manly focuses on heterogeneous wireless networks and wireless technologies for intelligent transportation systems and the implementation of algorithms to reduce the amount of information to be exchanged among sensors.
